Cookies and localStorage are small pieces of data a website keeps in your browser. What this site stores falls into four categories: essential, preferences, analytics, advertising. Essential is the only one that runs on its own. You choose the rest in the cookie banner, and nothing in them is set before you do.
Two of the five are declared here but not switched on yet. Analytics and advertising have no tool installed behind them, so the banner shows them greyed out and you cannot turn them on even if you want to. They are described below anyway, so that what you are agreeing to is written down before it starts rather than after.
As things stand this site contacts no third party while you read it. Fonts, images and every film are served from this domain. Refusing everything leaves the site working exactly as it does now.
What this site stores

anima_consent Essential localStorage, kept 12 months
Records the choices you make in the cookie banner. Without it the site could not remember that you said no, so it is the one entry that always works. After 12 months it expires and the banner asks again.

UI preference keys Preferences localStorage, until cleared
Interface choices such as sound on or off and lab display settings, stored only in your browser and never sent anywhere. Saved only if you allow the Preferences category.

Analytics Analytics not installed yet, up to 13 months once it is
Not in use today: no analytics tool is installed, the switch in the banner is greyed out, and nothing is counted or stored. When it is switched on it will count visits and record which pages and films people actually watch, in aggregate, so we know what to make more of. Nothing will be set until you allow the Analytics category, and nothing is sold on. Provider, when it starts: Google Ireland Limited (Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager).

Advertising Advertising not installed yet, up to 3 months once it is
Not in use today: no advertising tag is installed, the switch in the banner is greyed out, and nothing is measured. When it is switched on it will measure which campaigns brought you here and let us show our work to comparable audiences on other platforms. Nothing will be set until you allow the Advertising category. Platform, when it starts: Meta Platforms Ireland Limited (Meta Pixel, loaded through Google Tag Manager).

Vimeo player Essential session and short lived, set by Vimeo
The films on the case study and video pages play in the Vimeo player, embedded from Vimeo. It runs with Do Not Track switched on, so Vimeo sets no tracking or profiling cookie and builds no viewing profile: the only cookies are the ones the player needs to work and to pass its security checks, named player_clearance, cf_clearance, _cf_bm and _cfuvid. Because they are necessary to deliver the film you asked to watch, they sit under Essential and there is no switch for them. Two things you should know anyway: opening a page with a player sends your IP address to Vimeo, in the United States, and if you have visited Vimeo before your browser will send the cookies it already holds. What Vimeo does with that is described in Vimeo's cookie policy.
How to change your choices
The "Cookies" link in the footer reopens the consent banner at any time, with your current choices preloaded. Turning a category off stops it from that moment on: no new preference values are written and nothing new is loaded. Categories that have nothing installed behind them are shown greyed out and cannot be switched on.
How to clear browser storage
You can remove everything this site has stored through your browser settings, usually under privacy, site data or history, by clearing data for this site. Cookies already set by third parties such as Vimeo are removed the same way. Deleting the anima_consent entry simply brings the banner back on your next visit.
